Magnus:
You want "CU SeeMe". It used to be a freeware video conferencing app. from
one of the universities. I was sold to WhitePine or someone a few years ago
and was then available commercially. I haven't seen it advertised for a
year or so. I think I've got the original on a CD somewhere. I can check
the ReadMe if you'd like more info.

Dave:
We've had some networking problems on some macs under 8.6 set to use DHCP.
Our fix has been to de-select the TCP/IP option to "Load Only When Needed".
That seems to help in most cases. I hope it fits for you too.

Dear InfoMac readers:
I saw an ad in a local computer paper for 56K PCI card modems for $30 CDN
(that's probably only about 19 USD) and I've been meaning to upgrade from
my old 28.8 for a while. Will these work in a Mac? Would the Communications
Toolbox recognize them? Would they be seen as a serial port/device? Anyone
out there tried one? Thanks.

Welcome to the "CULTURE INTERCHANGE" square and thank you for your
interest in "nigiri-zushi" in Japan.
This program will introduce you a popular Japanese dish, nigiri-zushi.
Over forty kinds of nigiri-zushi in my homeland are introduced with their
ingredients. I ported these contents to a Hypercard stack.
If you're making culture introductory/interchange programs to post on
the InfoMac archives, would you name your program with a title that
conforms to the "CULTURE INTERCHANGE (your country, province, or state)
title " rule?

submitted or that approved substitutes be submitted and that is beyond the
scope of this spreadsheet. These forms verify all your calculations and

Frankly, something is horribly wrong. Having menus display
incorrectly or not at all would indicate to me that you've perhaps
got some System corruption. Have you tried booting from a CD-ROM,
then launching Eudora from the Eudora Settings file in your Eudora
Folder (since otherwise Eudora will try to create a new Eudora Folder
in the CD-ROM's locked System Folder and will prompt you to find a
Eudora Folder anyway)?

No, I doubt that's related either.

That's a good thing to try, and the fact that it didn't work
indicates that something more serious is going on.
Note that 8.6 is a free upgrade and may be worth the download at some point.

Have you tried checking the disk with Disk First Aid and zapping the
PRAM as well?

To be honest, I'm not surprised tech support had little idea what to
do - I've never heard of Eudora losing menus before either, which is
why I'm suggesting that you resort to traditional troubleshooting
methods.

AFAIK Alpha does all that - have you found otherwise? You may have to
write a little TCL for the syntax highlighting, although it's already
set up for Javascript and Perl, among others.
