Chinese Tiles by Predrag Stanojevic, 1995-1997

Chinese Tiles is a single-player game much like memory, you have to
match tiles and remove them. You might recognize the tiles from the old
chinese game Mah-Jongg.

There are many shareware versions of this game for various systems. I've
seen a couple of others for the mac as well.

When you start a new game 144 tiles are randomly placed. The object of
the game is to remove the tiles, one matching pair at the time until all
tiles are removed.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS 1) System 7 (or greater) 2) 256 Colours (it works
with 256 grayscale)

Subject: [*] Agent Audio v1.0.1 (PPC)

The Mac was made to be customized...especially when it comes to audio, as
all Macs come with the native ability to play sounds. Some software
companies halfheartedly acknowledge this by adding a few sounds to their
products but hiding them deep within the program, thus leaving you with
little ability to use the sounds YOU want to hear. Now you can do
something about it.

Agent Audio enables you to easily:
- View and play sounds embedded within programs and files
- Replace a program's sounds with your own Macintosh sound files
- Save a program's sound resources to individual Macintosh sound files
- Create archives of sound settings for back-up or reverting to them later
Agent Audio lets you safely replace the "snd" resources of any
application or file that already has them. Select the program you wish to
customize to view the available sounds. Then select the sounds you wish
to use, click the "move" button, and Agent' does all of the work for you!

Replace the music of your games with your favorite song, customize your
"new mail" sound in your email client, or change the sounds in your
America Online client! You can literally customize any software with
sound resources to your liking. Or, if you like a particular sound in a
program, use Agent Audio to extract the sound and save it to a
double-clickable sound file!

System Requirements:
- MacOS 7.1 or above
- Color Monitor
- 2MB of RAM
- 1MB of Hard Drive Space

Agent Audio is $12 shareware. Complete documentation and registration
information is included. This file may be copied, redistributed, and
included in archives and on CD-ROMs providing it is unaltered and
includes all documentation.

Subject: [*] Control Strip Toggle 1.3

Here is Control Strip Toggle, a program I wrote to fix a nagging annoyance
I had with Apple's Control Strip program. I love the program, but it
always seems to be in the way when ever I needed to use the bottom bit of
the screen for something (and since I use a PowerBook, I need all the
screen real estate I can get!) Anyway, in this package is a
mini-application (which you can put in your Apple Menu Items folder) which
will toggle the Strip on and off, and a few FKEYs which will do the same
thing with a keypress or two.

Control Strip Toggle works just fine with Men and Mice's "Desktop Strip" as
well.

This is an update (version 1.3) which takes up quite a bit less memory than
version 1.1 and has much improved documentation, including instructions how
to customize it.

Control Strip Toggle is public domain (I think I spent more time drawing
the icon than I spent on the program...)

Enjoy!

MacOS 8 will be out, including the long promised system customization features.
For now are some folders that I created in the "Boris" Copland Style.

Included are twenty (20) different MacOS 7 Icons in standard folder pasted

CopyPaste is the shareware utility that was awarded a 5 mouse rating by
MacUser and was their shareware utility of the year 1996. CopyPaste also
appeared in the June Wired and been featured in MacWeek, TidBits and many
other magazines. CopyPaste magnifies the clipboard in many different ways
and has been very popular with web developers, editors, writers, dtp
professionals and everyone who uses the clipboard. CopyPaste can be
downloaded free at:
http://www.scriptsoftware.com

Essential to magnifying the power of your Mac!

CopyPaste has these features:
* Clip Extender - gives 10 easy to access clipboards via menu or key
command.
* Clip Recorder - remembers the last 10 items copied via command c.
* Clip Archive - copied data is appended to one of 10 text files on disk.
* Save Clipboards thru Restarts - allows all 10 Clipboards to be saved
thru Shutdown or Restart.
* Clip Sets - Sets of 10 clipboards can be loaded and saved to disk.
Various Clip Sets can be created for different tasks. Clip Sets can also
be sent to other CopyPaste users for them to load and use.
* CopyPaste Palette - a floating windoid that allows you to view/use 10
clipboards in Clip Extender and in Clip Recorder.
* CopyPaste Utilities - there are text utilities, picture utilities and
date and time utilities that work on the clipboard.
CopyPaste eliminates tedious repetitive work and increases your ability
to get the job done.

CopyPaste 3.3.3 adds some handy internet features that web meisters
and others will appreciate. The list of new features is below.

Subject: [*] Daleks ET 2.0

This is a simple implementation of Daleks, a old game first written (as far
as I know) by John and Walter Wu (although I didn't use any of their source
code). You are being chased around by very stupid robots who want to kill
you for some strange reason. (You probably forgot to back up their memory
cores last night, didn't you? How inconsiderate!) Fortunately, these
robots are complete idiots. They always head straight for you, and with a
little strategy, you can cause them to crash into each other, turning
expenisive machinery into piles of rubble. (always a good time!)

Requirements:
I think anything with a 640x480 screen will do fine, but I could be wrong.
Just try it and find out.

2.0 changes:
I have moved the code into the MacZoop application framework, so now it has
the standard Mac OS GUI.
I added animation & made a menu so you can turn it on & off.
I made the window slightly shorter so you can see the bottom isn't being
cut off on 640x480 monitors.
I put an about box in.

This is "send me something cool" ware. Check the version history for some
ideas.

Subject: [*] Deskbots 121

DeskBots is an anti-productivity toy; a cross between the late Talking Moose and
the HAL9000. Once configured, your DeskBot will offer "helpful" advice, warn you
of impending doom, alert you to the presence of excess matter in the universe,
and generally do everything it can to distract you from getting any work
done. It
has been described as "artificial artificial-intelligence" and "riotous
fun", and
has even received a five-mouse rating from MacUser. Give DeskBots a try today -
once you do, your Mac just won't seem the same without it!

DeskBots is shareware ($10.00) and requires a 68030 or faster processor, MacOS
7.x, Apple's PlainTalk Text-to-Speech software, and 1 Mb of free RAM. Speakers
and a monitor capable of displaying thousands of colors are recommended but not
required.

Version 1.2.1 fixes a few minor glitches and adds new tags; <Day>, <Month>, and
<Year>. In addition, the price has been changed back to $10 (from $15).

If you enjoy DeskBots, be sure to obtain the "DeskBots Bonus Folder" archive
which contains additional background sounds, personalities, and other 'bot
goodies. It should be available wherever DeskBots is found or on the GL Software
web site at:

Subject: [*] DragAnyWindow 4.1J FAT (Japanese version)

DragAnyWindow 4.1J is the Japanese version of Alessandro Levi Montalcini's
original.

* DragAnyWindow is a way cool control panel that enhances the
look and behavior of window dragging. When you drag a window's
title bar and Solid Dragging is active, the whole window image
is moved instead of a dull-looking window outline. If the Update
Windows option is also active, all windows are updated on the
fly without waiting for you to release the mouse. Not as fast as
the BeOS, but definitely better than the standard MacOS
behavior!

* DragAnyWindow also allows you to easily move any kind of
window, including dialogs, alerts, standard "Open" and "Save"
dialogs, game windows and other non-movable windows. It lets you
bring back to the desktop any window that has gone out of sight,
or center the front window on the main screen with a single
keystroke. These options are very useful for old applications
designed for the 9" screen (which often use fixed windows) and
for moving modal dialogs and windows behind them.

New in version 4.1:
- A major update! Windows can now be updated while you drag
them, without waiting for the mouse button to be released.
- Solid dragging also works with programs that implement
  floating palettes.
- The Control Panel interface looks much better.

This is $10 shareware. Have fun and support Alex.

Simply drag GIF or PICT files (made with PhotoShop for example) onto

DroGIF is ideal for animated buttons or internet advertising, where

A simple configuration text file allows you to tweak some features, such

Subject: [*] GNU GhostScript 3.33 for Mac - revised version

here you find a new version of GNU GhostScript 3.33 porting for Mac.
Aladdin Enterprises' GhostScript is a fast and powerful PostScript
interpreter, that can face easily most of the professional RIPs on the
market. I've completely rewritten any other Mac porting, adding new
features:

* Full Macintosh interface: you don't need to look at the interactive
PostScript interpreter to get all important features (scaling, rotating,
mirroring, setting up batch jobs...).

* More printer-oriented: the software directly drives printer connected
via serial port at a speed up to 230 KBaud. Furthermore, a fast
serial-to-parallel converter is available to directly connect PC
printers: the user can buy an off-the-shelf Epson or HP and drive it
immediately in Level 2 PostScript, with great results!

* An easy interface to handle color curves: no more difference between
screen and printing, you can correct the RGB or CMYK behaviour of your
printer to exactly match the required results.

* A font converter to allow the interpreter to recognize all the fonts
you've always used: TT fonts included in EPS files are automatically
converted.

The software requires an FPU or PPC Macintosh, system 7.5 and enough
disk space for the jobs you want to print, as it spools to the disk
limiting memory requirements: Letter & A4 jobs can be achieved with 4 MB
memory allocation, while A0 jobs don't need more than 10MB RAM!

GhostScript is distributed under GNU license: this means, it can be
shared freely with no support. Anyway, with a small fee (US$ 20), users
can get from me support, better documentation and sample calibration
files. If it will be included in CD collections, I would like to receive
a sample.

PowerBooks that are capable of it. It can also "learn" the battery life on
any model of PowerBook, or display the elapsed battery time.
* Jeremy's Temperature CSM - Displays the internal temperature of a
PowerBook Duo or PowerBook 500 series.
* Jeremy's Application CSM - Displays a count of currently running
applications and DA's. Also has popup menu that lets you select foreground
application.
* Jeremy's AppleTalk CSM - Replaces Apple's AppleTalk CSM, but displays
more information.

MacAttack is a fast-paced arcade game only available on (you guessed it)
the Mac. The game plays similar to the classic arcade game "Tempest".
However, the graphics have been updated substantially. Version 1.9 fixes
some minor bugs in old versions of MacAttack (and a potentially fatal
bug in version 1.88).

MacAttack is fun for players of all skill levels. There are 5 difficulty
settings and unlike most games they significantly affect the way the
game is played. With this download you can only play 3 levels of the
game until you send in the shareware fee of $15. When you send in the
fee you'll get a password to unlock all 30 levels of the game. For more
info and to order the game visit our web page:

Features:
* Full-screen play on any Monitor. MacAttack will scale to the size of
your monitor (even 20 inch ones) if you give it enough memory.
* Smooth animation - 30 frames/second, digitized explosions
* Rendered 3d graphics
* Digitized explosions

Mpecker Encoder 020b1 is the beta version of the only Mpeg Layer-3
encoding software available for the Macintosh. Mpeg Layer-3 or Mp3
is a sound compression algorithm which offers CD quality sound files
while taking up very little space on your hard drive. You will need an
Mp3 player in order to listen to the files which Mpecker Encoder
creates. Currently availbable shareware Mp3 players for the Macintosh
are: Vamp, MacAmp, Audioactive, Mpecker (not the encoder), and MacPlay.

To create Mp3 files for listening and distribution, simply drag an

Subject: [*] Smack a Skunk 1.1 (game)

When you get pissed, but can't get even...

                    SMACK A SKUNK!

                If it stinks, smack it!

This is a game for getting rid of all that frustration that certain
companies, persons and organizations cause you. A bunch of suggested
skunks are provided, but you can also make your own.

Disclaimer: We do not encourage mistreatment of innocent animals!

This game is similar to the "Wack-a-mole" games you find in some
amusement parks, where moles peek out of holes and you should hit
them before they go back in again. That's exactly what you do here,
with the difference that it isn't moles, but symbols for whatever
you feel like hitting for the moment.

You must have a 640x480 pixel screen and 256 colors. (Sorry if
you don't - there are some good reasons, believe me!) A 68LC040
processor or better is strongly recommended. Fat binary. Tested
on Performa 630, PowerMac 6100 and PowerMac 7600. Version 1.1
fixes a display problem for "skunk images" that are not the
proper size, so you can now paste larger images without unpleasant
results.

Freeware.

Startup Player 2.0J is the Japanese version of Alessandro Levi Montalcini's
original. The installer is also localized. Enjoy!

* Startup Player is a definitely cool control panel that plays a
sound over and over until all other extensions have loaded and
the Finder comes out. The sound must be in a Finder sound file
called "Startup Loop" inside the Extensions folder (or in the
System folder if you're running System 6). You can also store
more than one sound file in a folder named "Startup Loops"
inside the Extensions folder, and Startup Player will pick a
random one at each startup.

New in version 2.0:
- Support for 44 KHz and 16 bit sounds is finally available.
- A random sound loop can now be chosen at every startup.
- This new version comes as a control panel to let you choose
the amount of system memory to reserve at startup.

This is $10 shareware. Have fun and support Alex.
