Subject: [*] Black Magik File Hider 1.0

File Hider is a utility that allows you to quickly and easily "hide"
selected files and folders on your Macintosh so that they cannot be seen
by casual observers or users of your Mac.

Simply drag your sensitive files or folders into File Hider's list, check
the boxes for the files that you want to hide, click on the Save button,
and watch your files vanish. When you need to access one of your hidden
files or folders, launch File Hider again, enter your password, uncheck
the boxes for the items that you want to use and click on the Save
button; your files will pop back into existence.

A single-machine license for File Hider costs $19.95 and requires an
Apple Power Macintosh computer running MacOS 8.1 through 9.0.4. For more
information, please visit the Black Magik Software web site at
<http://www.blackmagik.com/filehider.html>.

File Hider is a great way to safeguard your data during the holidays when
friends and family (especially the little ones) will have access to your
computer!

File Hider may be included on the Info-Mac and AMUG CD-ROMs.

I'm using a SmartMedia card reader with an Olympus D-460 and the
upload speed is wonderful. It should be fine with a D-490, even
though since the resolution is twice that for the D-460, it may wind

Subject: TV Remote & Computer

Thank you, everybody, for your assistance--it was suggested to me that I put
a piece of tape over the IR port on the front of the machine. I'm still
wondering, however: how the heck did the signal from the remote control get
_THROUGH_ the computer? See, the computer's BACK is toward where the remote
control is used. It _DID_ work from all angles, but I noticed no
difference--unless IR has a way of bending, why did it do that?

Does the computer have a little black window on the front? I had a computer
that was like this. I think it had an option for a TV tuner, and Sony TV
remotes could control it.
