Since its original release BibleBrowser has become a popular program for
those with an interest in the Bible. It offers many features that make it
useful while retaining a simplicity that makes it easy to use.

This is bug-fix version 1.02. Previous versions had a problem with the
Find command that could occasionally not work properly and sometimes make
the program run out of memory. I've also taken the opportunity to improve
the online help. BibleBrowser should run well on most any Macintosh.

Your questions and comments are welcomed by email to <HolyMac@kagi.com>.

Copy freely; I hope you enjoy it!

Subject: [*] Book, Chapter & Verse -- Learn to use the Bible

Educational Freeware -- Book, Chapter & Verse and QuizVerse

Book, Chapter & Verse is an interactive introduction to the Bible and
using it as a reference tool. Designed for use by pupils aged 9+, it is
an exciting and stimulating introduction to the most significant book in
human history. Pupils are introduced to the Bible and what is in it with
mini tests and activities with hypertext information at hand. The user
is gradually taken through the process of looking up Bible books, then
chapters and finally homes in on verses before a test to use these skills.
QuizVerse makes use of the skills learnt in BC&V in a fun quiz based on
Bible verses. The extendable design lets you add more questions complete
with multiple clues and multiple answers.
Helpful on-line documentation is provided for teachers to help you to
use Book, Chapter & Verse and QuizVerse straight away in the classroom.
Colour graphics and visual effects bring the topic to life as well as
stimulating quizzes to hold the attention of younger users. No teacher
supervision is necessary and the program makes the most of the
traditional intuitive Mac interface.
Like 'The Hajj' this program is already used in several schools in the
UK.

- Any Mac, System 7.0 or later, 4MB RAM, (256 colour display optional)
- HyperCard (or HyperCard player) version 2.1 or higher

The CD Label Printer Pro will print labels for Computer CDs and Music
CDs (Jewel Cases) on REGULAR PLAIN PAPER! Simply cut out the labels and
fold them into your CD cases.

The CD Label Printer Pro can:

* Print labels with front labels, back labels, and both side panels with
rotated text.
* Print pictures on your labels (PICT Files), and scale pictures to
cover the entire label.
* Save the labels.
* Draw Print Previews to help you decide if your label looks nice.
* Print in color.

Version 3.0.1 fixes a printing bug with certain printer drivers, such as
PowerPrint, ImageWriter I and II, and some laser printers. Also, the URL
to the registration page has been corrected.

This file replaces version 3.0.

Subject: [*] Eudora Multiple Accounts AppleScript Script, version 1.0

This script automatizes the task of checking multiple e-mail accounts with
Eudora through a PPP connection.

If you don't use Eudora, you don't need it. If you have only one e-mail
account, you might still want to use it, because it automatizes the whole
process of:
- launching Eudora with the desired settings,
- opening the PPP connection,
- sending any queued mail,
- getting the mail from your POP account,
- closing the PPP connection, and finally
- filtering the received mail.

It uses the minimum amount of on-line time needed, thus saving you money.
It's also very handy to put an alias to it into the Startup Items folder,
so that your computer will automatically check your mail whenever switched
on.

Read the included documentation for more information.

Subject: [*] Flex Processor Interactive Control Interface

This is a "crippleware" demo of a new Macintosh Midi program called Flex
Processor Interactive Control Interface. It is fully operable and may be
distributed on computer networks or by other means. It gives each new user
fifteen days or twenty launches free use, after which it requires
registration.

Description:

Flex Processor Interactive Control Interface is a gesture synthesizer that
simulates physical interaction with musical instruments. It permits
performance of realistic gestures or "licks" using standard keyboard
controllers. It has a modular programming architecture similar to that of a
modular tone synthesizer. This is a fully operable demo with a manual and
sample patches. There is also an text file containing the story of the
research that led to this rare find. This is fascinating information that
draws from fields like Music Perception and World Music Theory, and should be
of interest to all synthesizer users.

Helpful Font Cataloguing utility

FontGuide is a lean & mean HyperCard stack to create custom font sample
sheets for your system. It allocates a card per font and displays a
sample of that font at different sizes. This saves you from having to
type out new sample sheets of fonts each time you update your font

Subject: [*] Johns WP Outlining 6.0

John's WP Outlining is a powerful tool for use with WordPerfect 3x for the
Mac. This version, 6.0, offers the largest enhancement to this outliner in
the three years of its development.

I have paid careful attention to every outliner available for the Mac,
including MORE 3.1, Acta and InfoDepot, as well as the outlining modes of
FullWrite, MS Word and PowerPoint. John's WordPerfect Outlining exceeds the
feature set, and in most cases the flexibility and overall power and ease
of use, of any other outliner.

Its integration with WordPerfect's feature set and interface results in the
best organized writing tool I, and the best team of beta-testers ever, can
imagine.

New features:
+Plain text linked to topics.
+Join outline topics with a keystroke.
+Automatic bookmarking of topics, for your outline at a glance as well as
superb navigational ability.
+Now sorts topics which have any number of levels of subtopics.
+Outline-specific enhancements to WP's QuickCorrect.
+Improved context-sensitive Tab/Back Tab feature tabs subtopics with
current topic or not, depending on position of the insertion point in the
topic.
+Complete online help, with prompts that stay on-screen while you run the
commands they describe.
+Set all tabs in the document to any of a wide variety of options with a
keystroke.
+Elegant Outline Mode indicator.
+Count topics - total and all levels.
+Find next topic at any level.
+Update outline (all bookmarks and cross-references) at once.
+Self-running demo of major features.

Plus these features:
+ automatic level control.
+ comment boxes (speaker's notes).
+ automatic cross-referencing.
+ variable levels of indent.
+ collapse and/or fold any or all topics to any level.
+ automatically apply level-specific style sheets.
+ sort topics alphanumerically (up to nine levels) or numerically.
+ mark topics up to 5 levels for a table of contents
+ change auto-updating to text labels, or outline to text.
+ point-and-click moving and copying of topics.
+ clone topics within an outline or among different outlines.
+ gather topics in any order, and paste copies of them anywhere.

Still free. May be included on Umich and Sumex CDs.

Subject: [*] Kalk 1.1 (68K and FAT) Submission

Kalk is a simple RPN calculator, with a 30-level stack, that knows the
four basic operations plus some trig and log functions.
There are lots of desktop calculators out there. Why one more? I made
this one for my own personal use, because I wanted a RPN calculator, but
not that huge monsters I've seen around, almost complete implementations
of scientific HP machines. Those were great calculators, but they fill
almost the whole screen with tens of buttons and switches. At the end of
one week I usually was back to the classic Apple calc, because it's
small, fast, doesn't create auxiliary files on the disk, and don't have
big manuals.
So, the first goal on Kalk design was to make its window the same size
of Apple's. Then remove all digit buttons from the panel, making area
for more information (6 or 17 of the 30 levels of the stack are shown).
The only buttons remaining are those used everytime and those that are
hard to remember without a label (Drop, Swap, Enter, Undo, Change Sign,
Clear). Digits are entered via keyboard, and the special functions are
grouped on the "Kalk" menu.
Using Kalk is very like doing simple math on a 28- or 48-series HP

(hope you have one) is the best choice.

There is now a WWW home page about Kalk in general. If you're

I've attached a HTML file to the Kalk release, so you can simply open
the "Visit Kalk Home.html" file in your WWW browser instead of typing
this string. The page also contains information about the ports of Kalk
to Unix and Windows.

Changes for this version:
1.1 Window now can grow to show 17 levels of the stack. Added Power
(x^y) function to the Kalk menu. Fixed a bug on Kalk menu (not reported
by any user, but very ugly). Released 961219, on tiny 68K and bigger FAT

The only buttons remaining are those used everytime and those that are

uses five integrated work areas that together teach correct finger
placement and "touch-typing" memory of the keys on the keyboard. Practice
materials include: single letters, letter & number sequences, words,
sentences, paragraphs, and free typing. The program offers a spelling
checker, user-defined speed goals, score sheets, time tracking with
rest-signals, and many other helpful features. It comes in a regular
version (enclosed), a junior version, and a special version (Dvorak). It
also now comes in a French version. Other non-English versions under

***************************** Abstract ...

ProCreation is a state-of-the-art artificial-life simulator, unlike any
other :

* It has an extremely simple, slick interface - all controls are 'live'.
* It can cope with enormous world sizes - over 4 million cells per 1Mb
memory.
* It is blindingly fast - e.g. 17 million cells per second on a 66MHz 601.
* It automatically wraps the world - infinite scrolling in all directions.

The Artificial Life game was originally developed by James Conway and is
the
basis of hundreds of implementations on every conceivable platform.

Version 1.1 Improvements
========================

* Generation calculation speed increase of 60%.
* Inverted display and full screen options.
* Randomisation improved, better multitasking behaviour.

ProCreation is distributed as a fat application, and requires System 7.
It is
shareware, and may be included on any archive if the entire package is
present.

Subject: [*] Regis 1.0 (FAT), A Registration Serial Number Tracker

Regis is a freeware application that helps users easily keep track of the
registration numbers of their purchased software. It allows users to
enter/retrieve their software's serial reg number into/from a database by
simply dragging-and-dropping icons on top of Regis.

Why use Regis? Have you ever upgraded to a new version of some software or
called for technical support over the phone? Then you know that it's
important to keep the registration serial number of your software around so
you can identify that you're the legitimate owner of the programs you've
purchased.

But if you're like me, you have your registration information written on
scraps of paper or kept in manuals and boxes you've scattered somewhere. And
when it's time to upgrade to new versions, you cringe at the thought of
entering a twenty-character code for your commercial or shareware apps. (You
DO register and pay for your shareware, don't you?) The solution: use Regis
to maintain your serial numbers!

Regis is a FAT application, meaning it needs to exercise more and eat less.
Additionally, it can run native on both 68K and PowerPC ISAs. It has been
tested on a 7100/80 and a Quadra 630.

Feel free to include Regis on the archive's CD-ROM collection.

Educational Freeware -- World Religions QuizBase

World Religions QuizBase covers the 6 major world religions, introducing
the user to their associated signs and symbols, all based around a
20-question quiz. Designed for use by pupils aged 11+, it is a useful
aid to help brighten up a word religions topic. Several pages of
information on the religions are provided together with descriptions of
the origins of their symbols. In the quiz the user is allowed several
attempts before the computer will reveal the correct answer. A
cross-reference feature helps point users to the relevant pages of
information.
The program is highly intuitive and runs on all Macs - even those
ancient black and white ones so you can have lots of pupils using it at
once. Limited on-line help explains the point of the information and
quiz for users.
Like 'The Hajj' this program is already used in several schools in the
UK.

- Any Mac, System 7.0 or later, 4MB RAM, (256 colour display optional)

The brochure describes the various potential problems that the year 2000
brings. It details what the problems are, how to test for them, and why
it is important to deal with this issue as soon as possible.
